Aura Beauty & Head Spa

— Issaquah · E Sunset Way

Spa Packages in Issaquah, from $120.

Seven pairings. Each one puts two treatments — three, in one case — inside a single 60 or 90 minute appointment. Five come out cheaper than the same treatments booked one at a time, and two come out $10 dearer.

Quick answer

A spa package at Aura Beauty & Head Spa is two or three treatments booked as one appointment of 60 or 90 minutes, priced $120 to $168. Seven are on the menu at 575 E Sunset Way in Issaquah, WA. The Midweek Healing Package is $148 and runs three 30 minute stages — shoulders, facial, head spa. Open every day, 9 AM to 8 PM.

Does a package cost less than its two halves?

Five of the seven do, by $10 to $42. The two that do not are the ones whose halves are not sold at the same length: there is no 30 minute head spa with a wash on the menu, and no 45 minute facial. The full menu those figures come from is on the pricing page.

Package Nearest items, booked on their own Separately Package Difference
Male: Shoulder + Head Spa 60 min Neck & Shoulder $60 + TCM Head Aromatherapy $50 $110 $120 $10 more
Male: Shoulder + Gua Sha Facial 60 min Neck & Shoulder $60 + Gua Sha Lifting Facial $80 $140 $120 $20 less
Neck & Shoulder + Head Spa 90 min Neck & Shoulder $60 + Signature Head Spa $90 $150 $140 $10 less
Head Spa + Back Massage 90 min Classic Head Spa $78 + Swedish Massage $85 $163 $145 $18 less
Midweek Healing Package 90 min Neck & Shoulder $60 + Gua Sha Facial $80 + TCM Head Aromatherapy $50 $190 $148 $42 less
Gua Sha Facial & Head Spa 90 min Gua Sha Lifting Facial $80 + Signature Head Spa $90 $170 $160 $10 less
Gua Sha Facial + Head Spa (45 + 45) 90 min Gua Sha Lifting Facial $80 + Classic Head Spa $78 $158 $168 $10 more

Four of the seven rows are matched to a near item, not an identical one, because the menu has no 30 minute head spa with a wash, no 45 minute facial and no 45 minute back massage. Where the package ends up costing more, that mismatch is the reason.

The stand-in for a 30 minute head spa is the TCM Head Aromatherapy at $50, which is oil and massage on a dry scalp. A 45 minute facial sits somewhere between the $80 gua sha at 30 minutes and the $138 facials at 60.

The 45 minute back massage inside the $145 pairing is the exception that cuts the other way: the closest thing on the menu is the 60 minute Swedish at $85, so that row flatters the package. Everywhere else the cheapest item that fits is the one used. Swap the $90 Signature for one of the $100 rituals and two of the gaps widen by $10.

Which package should you book?

For a first visit, the $140 Neck & Shoulder Massage + Head Spa. After that it goes by what you want worked on: three pair a head spa with a massage, two pair it with a gua sha facial, one puts a massage beside a facial, and the Midweek Healing Package takes all three in 30 minute stages. Every head spa of 45 minutes or more ends with a blow-dry.

If this is your first visit

Book the Neck & Shoulder Massage + Head Spa at $140. That is 30 minutes of shoulder and back work, then a full 60 minute head spa — the scalp analysis on the monitor, the double cleanse, the long massage, the warm water rinse and the blow-dry. Ninety minutes in all, with two thirds of it in the head spa.

If you want your scalp and your skin done

Two of them do that. Gua Sha Facial & Head Spa is $160 for a 30 minute facial and a 60 minute head spa. The 45 + 45 version is $168 and moves 15 minutes off the scalp and onto the face, which suits you if the skin is the reason you are coming. Both use gua sha along the jaw and cheekbones.

If you carry it in your shoulders

Head Spa + Back Massage at $145 has the longest hands-on massage on the package list: 45 minutes across the back and legs, then 45 minutes of scalp. If the tightness sits higher up — neck, shoulders, the tops of the arms — the $140 pairing spends 30 minutes there and gives the extra time to the head spa.

If you are booking for a man

Both $120 packages are listed as Male: 30 minutes of shoulder work, then either a head spa or a gua sha facial, 60 minutes in all. They are the two lowest prices on the package list and the only two that run an hour — the other five are 90 minutes. The men's head spa page covers what a first visit looks like.

Which days count as midweek?

The menu does not say, so ask when you book. The Midweek Healing Package is $148 for three 30 minute stages — shoulders, facial, head spa — and the same three priced on their own come to $190, which is the widest gap on the list. Call or text (206) 552-4799, or send the question through the contact page.

The doors are open the same hours every day, 9 AM to 8 PM, so a 90 minute package fits a Saturday morning as easily as a Wednesday evening. The Midweek Healing Package is the only one of the seven whose name mentions a day at all, which is why it is worth a question first.

Finding us

Look for the sign, not a shopfront

Open every day, 9 AM to 8 PM — a lunch hour, an evening after work, or a weekend morning all fit.

  1. Come off I-90 at Exit 18 and follow E Sunset Way east. We are about a third of a mile past Front Street, on a block of converted houses.
  2. Watch the curb for a dark monument sign reading House of Layo and Aura Beauty. We share the site with the salon, so that sign is the landmark.
  3. Come a few minutes early — there is tea by the fireplace, and every package with a head spa in it opens with a look at your scalp on the monitor.

— Package questions

Asked & answered.

How much do the packages cost?

$120 to $168. The two 60-minute Male packages are $120 each, and the five 90-minute packages are $140, $145, $148, $160 and $168.

Is a package cheaper than booking two treatments?

In five of the seven, yes — by $10 to $42 against the nearest items priced on their own. The Midweek Healing Package has the widest gap: $148 for three 30-minute stages that come to $190 separately.

Which days count as midweek?

The menu does not spell it out. Call or text (206) 552-4799 before you pick a slot and ask whether the $148 package is tied to particular days — the name suggests it is, and the listing does not name them.

Does a package finish with a blow-dry?

Every head spa of 45 minutes or more does, which covers the $145, $160 and $168 packages and the 60-minute head spa inside the $140 one. For the two packages built on a 30-minute head spa stage, ask when you book.

How long is a package appointment?

Sixty or ninety minutes. The two Male packages run 60 minutes; the other five run 90. Nothing on the package list is shorter than an hour.

Can a package treat a scalp problem?

No. This is a beauty service and it does not diagnose, treat or cure anything. Hair loss, a sore scalp, or flaking that will not settle is a dermatologist's question — see one first, then book, because they work well together.
