What is on the massage menu?
Four bookings, and the list stops there: 30 minutes on the neck and shoulders at $60, a 60-minute Swedish at $85, 60 minutes of deep tissue at $95, and the same deep-tissue work held for 90 minutes at $135. Nothing is sold as an add-on to those four — where a massage and a head spa share one appointment, that is a package.
Neck & Shoulder · 30 minutes · $60
The shortest booking, covering the neck, the shoulders and the upper back. Half an hour is about right for the band of muscle that a keyboard, a steering wheel and a phone screen have been tightening since Monday. It is also the 30 minutes of massage inside four of our seven packages.
Swedish · 60 minutes · $85
Lighter, broader work across the whole body — long strokes, steady pressure, nothing that makes you brace. Book it when the tension is general and what you want is an hour in which nobody needs anything from you. It is also the easier one to pick if it has been years since your last massage and you would rather not be surprised.
Deep tissue · 60 minutes at $95, or 90 at $135
Slower and firmer, worked into the places that have been tight for months: neck, shoulders, back and legs. Sixty minutes covers two or three of those properly. The 90 gives the extra half hour to the fourth, or spends all of it on whichever one you point at when you come in.

Which massage should you book?
Choose by how long the tightness has been there. One bad week in a desk chair answers to 30 minutes on the neck and shoulders at $60. Months of it, or a low back and legs that ache by Wednesday, wants the 60-minute deep tissue at $95 and probably the 90 at $135.
If you want an hour off, no knot in particular
Take the Swedish. It suits the visit where the reason for coming is the week itself and there is no single sore spot you could point to. Sixty minutes at $85 is also the easiest first appointment to judge a studio by, before you commit to anything longer.
If one place has been sore for months
Deep tissue, and say where as soon as you are in the room. Our therapists will work the area at the pressure you ask for. Tightness that took months to build rarely lets go in a single hour, so two or three appointments a few weeks apart usually do more than one long booking on its own.
If you want the scalp done as well
Book a package and both happen in one appointment instead of two. Four of the seven put a massage and a head spa together, and that is where the 30-minute Neck & Shoulder most often ends up. The packages page lays all seven out side by side with what each one would cost booked separately.

Which packages include a massage?
Five of the seven, and four of those five include a head spa. The fifth trades the scalp for a gua sha facial. Lengths run 60 or 90 minutes and prices run $120 to $148, and four of the five come in under the nearest treatments priced on their own, by $10 to $42.
- Male: Upper Shoulder Massage + Head Spa — $120, 60 minutes. Thirty minutes on the shoulders, then 30 minutes of head spa.
- Neck & Shoulder Massage + Head Spa — $140, 90 minutes. The 30-minute shoulder and upper-back work, then a full 60-minute head spa with the blow-dry.
- Head Spa + Back Massage — $145, 90 minutes. An even split, 45 minutes each, with back and legs on the massage half.
- Midweek Healing Package — $148, 90 minutes. Three 30-minute stages in a row: shoulders, facial, head spa.
- Male: Upper Shoulder Massage + Gua Sha Facial — $120, 60 minutes. Thirty minutes of deep tissue on the shoulders, then a 30-minute gua sha facial — the one massage package with no scalp work in it.
Where the arithmetic lands
Four of the five reward a calculator. The $140 Neck & Shoulder + Head Spa buys the $60 massage and a 60-minute head spa that costs $90 on its own — $150 apart, $140 together. The $120 Male pairing with the gua sha facial puts $60 next to $80, so $140 apart and $120 together.
The widest gap is the Midweek Healing Package: $148 for three 30-minute stages that come to $190 one by one — $60 for the shoulders, $80 for the facial, $50 for the head spa. The $145 Head Spa + Back Massage shows $18 off, though its massage half runs 45 minutes and the nearest thing to price it against is the 60-minute Swedish at $85, so that particular gap flatters the package.
The full comparison, every row of it, is on the packages page. Every single service sits on the pricing page, and all of it books through Square at any hour of the day.

What can a massage reasonably do?
It may help you relax, and research suggests it can ease muscle tension. NCCIH reports that a 2017 American College of Physicians guideline included massage among the non-drug options for short-term low-back pain, and describes massage as low-risk when a trained practitioner performs it.
Ninety minutes on a table in a quiet room is also ninety minutes in which nobody can reach you, and for some people that is reason enough to book the long one. Issaquah collects about 62 inches of rain, most of it between October and April, so a 6 PM appointment in January is a different proposition from a 6 PM appointment in July.
When to talk to a doctor first
New pain, numbness, a recent injury, recent surgery or a fever are all reasons to check with your physician before you book, and to say so when you arrive. Pregnancy is the same conversation. Massage here is a beauty and relaxation service; it does not diagnose, treat or cure anything.
Hair loss, a scalp that is sore, or flaking that will not settle belongs with a dermatologist. See one first, then book — they work well together, and our guide to scalp massage sets out what the research does and does not say about the scalp side of the menu.
Finding us
Look for the sign, not a shopfront
Open every day, 9 AM to 8 PM — a lunch hour, an evening after work, or a weekend morning all fit.
- Come off I-90 at Exit 18 and follow E Sunset Way east. We are about a third of a mile past Front Street, on a block of converted houses.
- Watch the curb for a dark monument sign reading House of Layo and Aura Beauty. We share the site with the salon, so that sign is the landmark.
- Come a few minutes early on a first visit — there is tea by the fireplace, and telling us at the desk what you want worked on saves that time coming out of your hour.
