What is actually different about a head spa here?
Every head spa opens with a look at your scalp on a monitor. A camera magnifies one patch many times over, and you see it at the same moment the therapist does — the oil sitting between follicles, the flaking at a part line, the residue a home wash never shifted. It decides what the next hour does, and a Redmond studio charges $30 extra for the same step.
Does a longer appointment mean more massage?
Not always. The 45-minute Classic at $78 and the 60-minute Signature at $90 differ by exfoliation and a longer neck and shoulder stretch. But the two 90-minute treatments at $150 spend their extra half hour on the scalp itself — steam and a bonding treatment on the Milbon ritual, a deeper cleanse and an essence infusion on the Purifying one.
Why does the water matter here?
Issaquah blends water from four of its own wells with Cascade surface supply, and it tests at 69.5 ppm against Seattle's 22.9 and Bellevue's 24.6 — about three times harder, though still moderate by national standards. Mineral in the water is one more thing a home wash leaves behind, which is part of why the second shampoo exists.

How far is it from the rest of the Eastside?
Off-peak driving times from the studio's own coordinates. Anything arriving eastbound on I-90 needs eight to twelve minutes more between three and seven in the afternoon.

Look for the sign, not a shopfront
Open every day, 9 AM to 8 PM — a lunch hour, an evening after work, or a weekend morning all fit.
- Come off I-90 at Exit 18 and follow E Sunset Way east. We are about a third of a mile past Front Street, on a block of converted houses.
- Watch the curb for a dark monument sign reading House of Layo and Aura Beauty. We share the site with the salon, so that sign is the landmark.
- Come a few minutes early on a first visit — there is tea by the fireplace, and your head spa starts with a look at your scalp on the monitor.
