What is in the two men's packages? Both $120, both 60 minutes.
Both run 60 minutes and both cost $120. The first half is identical: 30 minutes of firm work across the upper shoulders, the base of the neck and the top of the back. The second half is where they split, and the choice is scalp or face.
Upper Shoulder Massage + Head Spa
Thirty minutes on the shoulders, then thirty at the basin. The scalp half opens with a digital scalp analysis — a camera magnifies a patch of your scalp onto a monitor and you watch it with the therapist — and the cleanse and treatment that follow are chosen from what is on the screen.
Upper Shoulder Massage + Gua Sha Facial
Same 30 minutes of deep tissue on the shoulders, then a 30-minute gua sha facial. A smooth stone is drawn along the jaw and the cheekbones to ease puffiness. Nothing touches your hair in this one, so it works on a lunch break or before an afternoon of meetings.
What order does it happen in?
Shoulders first, then the scalp or the face. Half an hour of pressure through the upper traps loosens the neck before you lie back with your head in a basin, and the second half lands better for it.
- Shoulders, neck and upper back, 30 minutes, firm pressure — say the word at any point and the therapist eases off or leans in.
- The scalp reading on the monitor, if you took the basin half, so the cleanse and treatment come from what is on screen.
- Cleanse and scalp massage at the basin, with warm water running through your hair from the ring above it while you stay lying down.
The head spa page sets all eight standing scalp formats side by side, $50 to $150, and the massage page covers the bodywork on its own.

Does short hair change the treatment? No.
The work is on the skin under the hair, so a buzz cut carries the same scalp as anything else and a shaved head is no obstacle. What short hair changes is the wash and the finish — less to shampoo, less to rinse, and a blow-dry that is over quickly. The 30 minutes of scalp time in a $120 package is spent the same way on any head.
Men with longer hair usually ask about buildup from daily product. The double shampoo handles it — the first pass lifts wax, clay and whatever the week left behind, the second reaches skin. Come with your hair as it is; washing it that morning makes the scalp harder to read on the monitor.
The scalp analysis guide covers what the camera shows and why it changes the products, and what to expect on a first visit walks through the hour end to end.

Will I look different when I leave?
No cut, no color, nothing left in your hair. The head spa formats from 45 minutes up finish with a blow-dry, so you walk out dry and your hair sits the way it normally sits. Issaquah takes 62 inches of rain a year and runs wet from October through April, which is a fair argument for the dry finish.
The 30-minute TCM Head Aromatherapy at $50 works the other way: oil, pressure and aroma on a dry scalp, and it never wets your hair. If the blow-dry matters on a $120 package, ask when you call (206) 552-4799 — that scalp half runs 30 minutes.

Who is the shoulder half for? Desk workers, mostly.
People who sit at a keyboard all day. Thirty minutes of firm pressure across the upper traps, the base of the neck and the top of the back is what that half buys, and Mayo Clinic's account of tension-type headache lists stress and holding the head in one position among the things that set it off. Booked on its own that half-hour is the $60 Neck & Shoulder Massage; inside either male package it arrives with the scalp or the face attached for $120.
Pressure is adjustable the whole way through, and the therapist works from what you say out loud. Firm should register as pressure and stop short of pain, so ask for less the moment you catch yourself bracing.
When should you see a dermatologist first?
Before you book, if you have hair coming out in patches, a scalp that is sore, bleeding or crusting, or flaking that has not settled with an over-the-counter shampoo. Numbness or pain running down an arm is a question for your doctor in the same way. This is a beauty and relaxation service and it does not diagnose, treat or cure anything, so see a dermatologist first and then book — the two sit together well.

What does it cost against the rest of the menu?
Both male packages are $120 for 60 minutes. The nearest pairing booked separately — a 30-minute Neck & Shoulder Massage at $60 plus the 45-minute Classic Head Spa at $78 — comes to $138 and runs 75 minutes. The table sets the two men's lines beside the other combinations on the same menu.
| Package | How the time splits | Length | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Male: Upper Shoulder Massage + Head Spa | 30 min shoulders, 30 min scalp | 60 min | $120 |
| Male: Upper Shoulder Massage + Gua Sha Facial | 30 min shoulders, 30 min facial | 60 min | $120 |
| Neck & Shoulder Massage + Head Spa | 30 min shoulders, 60 min scalp | 90 min | $140 |
| Head Spa + Back Massage | 45 min scalp, 45 min back and legs | 90 min | $145 |
| Midweek Healing Package | Shoulders, facial, scalp — 30 min each | 90 min | $148 |
All 23 services are on the pricing page, and the seven combinations sit together on the packages page. A gift card covers the $120 without anyone having to guess which half he would want.

Where is the studio and how do I get there?
575 E Sunset Way, in Olde Town, arriving from I-90 Exit 18. The studio is a converted house on a tree-lined block about a third of a mile east of the shops on Front Street, a 7 to 9 minute walk on the flat. Look for the curbside monument sign reading House of Layo and Aura Beauty — the house shares it.
Coming eastbound at the end of the workday, add time. WSDOT measured the I-90 Bellevue–Issaquah corridor at 17 minutes on average in the PM peak and 21 minutes at the 95th percentile, against 9 minutes at the posted speed. Sammamish never touches the freeway: about 16 minutes down 228th Ave SE and Highlands Drive.
Olde Town and the NW Gilman Blvd strip sit on opposite sides of I-90, and first-time visitors sometimes drive to the wrong one. Doors are open 9 AM to 8 PM every day, so a 6 PM start on a 60-minute package finishes with an hour to spare — book online or text (206) 552-4799.
